California Post Graduate Program Signs Talented Infielder Geoffrey Fontenot for Upcoming Season

California Post Graduate program is proud to welcome another talented player to their team. Geoffrey Fontenot, a 2023 SS/3B from Iota High School in Opelousas, Louisiana, has signed on with the team for the upcoming season. Fontenot boasts a slender, athletic build with a 5-9, 148 lb. frame and has demonstrated impressive abilities on the field.

"Geoffrey is a very exciting addition to our team," says Head Coach Zack Novis. "He has shown great athleticism and potential in his high school career, and we are looking forward to seeing him develop even further as a player."

Director of Baseball Operations, Casey Dill, also commented on the signing, saying, "We are thrilled to have Geoffrey join our team and believe that he has the potential to make a real impact on our program. He is a skilled player with a great work ethic, and we are excited to see how he contributes to our success."

On defense, Fontenot demonstrates quick and agile actions in the middle infield, with big range especially when charging and to his left. He has quick hands adjusting to hops and enough arm strength. At the plate, he is a right-handed hitter with a spread bent knee stance and an early stride into contact. He tends to get out in front early but has a line drive swing path with contact to all fields, and has flashed some pull-side power on his pitch.

Fontenot is a good athlete who plays with energy and has the potential to continue improving with additional repetitions and strength. He is also a good student, which is an important factor for the California Post Graduate program.
